Cracker Barrel Menu FAQ
HOW DID CRACKER BARREL GET ITS NAME?
Originally, Cracker Barrel was named after cracker barrels, which were actual barrels of crackers from the country stores of that era.
WHO STARTED CRACKER BARREL?
In addition to founding Cracker Barrel, Dan Evins also used to work for his grandfather, running a gasoline business that eventually developed into Cracker Barrel. The company’s name was a play on the phrase cracker barrel, a literal term for barrels full of crackers.
HOW MANY CRACKER BARREL RESTAURANTS ARE THERE?
All past Cracker Barrel restaurants had gas pumps, but with the gasoline crisis in the seventies, new locations were built without pumps. The interstate road system had not yet developed back in the 60s, so Evins used that as an opportunity to expand his family’s oil business by establishing a country home store, rather than the fast food restaurants at that time.
WHO OWNS CRACKER BARREL?
Currently, Sandra B. Cochran is the CEO of Cracker Barrel, a publicly traded company.
WHERE WAS THE FIRST CRACKER BARREL OPENED?
Located off Interstate 40 in Lebanon, Tennessee, Cracker Barrel opened its first location.
WHAT YEAR WAS CRACKER BARREL FOUNDED?
The first Cracker Barrel opened in 1969. By 1977, the store had opened 13 stores from Kentucky to Georgia. A favorite was the homemade cornbread (and it is still a favorite).
WHAT TIME DOES CRACKER BARREL CLOSE?
It depends on the location of the Cracker Barrel store when it closes.
WHAT TIME DOES CRACKER BARREL OPEN?
Cracker Barrel has the earliest opening hours. Be sure to check what time they open in your local area on their website.
WHEN DOES CRACKER BARREL SERVE LUNCH?
Cracker Barrel serves lunch starting at 11 a.m. Monday through Friday, and they offer a wide range of options. Daily specials start at $5.99, including their famous Chicken Pot Pie. See their website for daily specials and more information.
